Monday 23 December 2013 10:24 CET | News

MasterCard, eServGlobal, a French developer of telecommunications software systems and BICS, a global mobile financial services provider, have teamed up to create HomeSend, a joint venture which will enable customers to send money to and from mobile money accounts, payment cards, bank accounts or cash outlets, regardless of their location or that of the recipient.

The HomeSend joint venture will be based on the current HomeSend platform, a remittance hub based on eServGlobal technology and developed as part of a strategic partnership between eServGlobal and BICS. By connecting the worldwide community of telecom partners and MTOs to the 24,000 financial institutions on the MasterCard network, the HomeSend joint venture is set to provide customers options for sending or receiving funds and enable cross-border remittance payments worldwide.

In recent news, MasterPass, MasterCard’s digital payment platform, has launched in Italy, to offer consumers a new way to shop online.
