BellSouth has been selected by Lynk Systems, to provide toll free long distance services to facilitate dial-in credit card transactions for its customers.

As a result, Lynk, based in Atlanta, is experiencing significant cost savings and faster transaction processing. Lynk processes transactions initiated by credit and debit cards, checks, and other access cards from merchant point-of-sale terminals, automated teller machines and Web sites. The company handles more than 25 million electronic payment transactions per month and recently decided to move a significant portion of their communications network in house. After reviewing numerous industry providers to handle their toll free dial-in transactions, Lynk selected BellSouth. In 2002, BellSouth became the first regional Bell operating company to offer long distance in its entire territory, and to provide solutions for both large and small businesses. Lynk joins numerous customers in the financial services industry that are relying on BellSouth for a significant portion of their communications needs. In addition to local, long distance and toll free services, BellSouth also provides Lynk with data networking solutions, Internet services and data equipment. Last year, Lynk became one of BellSouths first customers to use BellSouth Managed Network Virtual Private Network (VPN) Service, which offers state-of-the-art data networking capabilities designed to support remote access, intranet, Internet and extranet application needs of businesses.
