Lightbridges Authorize.Net Expands IP-Based Payment Gateway to Support Card Present Transactions

Authorize.Net Internet Protocol (IP) Payment Gateway has expanded its capabilities to support card present transactions generated by retail point-of-sale (POS) and mobile devices. With this development, Authorize.Net now processes high-speed payments in both card present and card not present environments.

The Authorize.Net IP Payment Gateway employs 128-bit SSL security, delivering authorizations as quickly as two seconds and providing merchants with continuous connectivity to processors, including FDMS, Nova, Global Payment Systems, and Vital. Faster authorizations translate to faster check-out times, which lead to satisfied customers and improved merchant productivity. Products currently taking advantage of the Authorize.Net Card Present service include Hypercoms Optimum T4100 and Infinite Peripherals MobileCharge. In addition to speed and security, IP transactions provide cost reductions through the elimination of telephone lines supporting dial terminals, improved utilization of broadband services, and potentially lower authorization fees. Using IP technology, the remote management of POS devices is enhanced and downloads of future value-adding applications improved, so merchants can maintain and update their system depending on their unique needs.
