Emerging Markets Payments (EMP), an electronic payments processing company in the Middle East and Africa region, has signed an agreement with Middle East Payment Services (MEPS), a payment services provider in the Levant, to provide a unified Point-of-Sale (POS) service across Jordan.

Under the terms of the agreement, EMP will be responsible for deployment and management of the unified fleet of POS terminals, including the provision of maintenance and all logistics relating to POS field services. MEPS and EMP will also partner in providing value added services, including e-voucher, bill payments and e-commerce services.

The agreement signed between EMP and MEPTS is for a term of seven years.

In recent news, MasterCard has appointed Emerging Markets Payments (EMP) as a principal member in Egypt. Through this, EMP will be able to sponsor issuers in Egypt and other African markets as affiliates.
