Israel Discount Bank, one of the countrys three biggest banks, will automate its branch processes further in the future. To meet this goal, Wincor Nixdorf and its partner Taldor will deliver a solution package consisting of self-service terminals and the corresponding software.

The bank will equip its 260 branches and representative offices with 580 ProConsult 2000 and ProConsult 2050 terminals from Wincor Nixdorf. These will enable bank customers to deposit checks, handle transactions online and print out account information. Installation activities began in December 2006 and are scheduled for completion in March. The new order brings Wincor Nixdorfs current installation base up to almost 1400 self-service terminals around the country.Wincor Nixdorf’s local partner Taldor has developed a special software application that integrates the self-service terminals in Israel Discount Banks network. One of the functions it will enable is online check processing. Future plans include flexible software expansion, which will allow Israel Discount Bank to offer new services. Taldor will also assume responsibility for servicing the machines.Wincor Nixdorf has collaborated with Taldor in Israel since 1996, and this year succeeded in adding the Discount Bank to its list of key accounts. Integration of self-service terminals reflects a trend already seen in many Israeli banks, which are increasingly shifting their cost-intensive non-cash transactions onto self-service systems.Israel’s bank business is one of the fastest growing markets in the Middle East. Banks are progressively expanding their ATM networks and replacing their outdated systems. Wincor Nixdorf plans to focus more of its attention on expanding its self-service solutions business in Israel in the future.
