InterCept Launches Remote Capture of Check Images

InterCept has launched Branch Capture Xpress, an advanced remote capture technology that gives financial institutions the ability to leverage Check 21 through the remote capture of check images and effortless transmission of those images to a processing facility.

The Bank of Stanly, headquartered in Albemarle, North Carolina, will be the first financial institution to implement InterCepts Branch Capture Xpress technology in late August 2004. InterCepts Branch Capture Xpress gives financial institutions the power to take full advantage of Check 21 through the remote capture of check images and streamlined transmission of those images to a central processing facility. Branch Capture Xpress eliminates courier costs with all work truncated at the site of first presentment, thus eliminating the need to deliver work via courier from branch or office locations to a processing facility. Additionally, work is captured and transmitted throughout the day, giving financial institutions the option of extending their same-day processing window because there are no mid-day cutoffs. Increased income possibilities are also provided through Branch Capture Xpress because work is delivered to processing facilities earlier in the day, providing better funds availability and clearing pricing.
