Ingenico Restructures Industrial and Logistical Operations

Friday 14 January 2005 09:48 CET | News

Ingenico has moved to strengthen its industrial and logistical activity, with two highly skilled figures taking up key positions in Operations.

In 2003, Ingenico announced its program to outsource all terminal manufacturing in order to optimize costs, gain greater control over company resources and focus on its core business. Ingenico thus set out to review and reorganize all its industrial and logistical activities. As a result, production of its terminals was contracted out to industrial partners around the world, including Celestica in Spain, Jabil in the United Kingdom and Brazil, SMTC in Mexico and CEC in China. In 2004, this strategy enabled the company to meet a record order backlog while achieving higher quality, better sourcing and enhanced logistics. Now, as a further step in this strategy to improve margins and customer service, Ingenico has just brought in two Operational experts. Sylvain Rousseau will be joining Ingenico as Group Vice-President of Operations, reporting to Eric Lecesne, Executive Vice-President in charge of the Technologies and Products Division. After graduating from ENSAE/Sup’Aero in 1993, Sylvain Rousseau enrolled in the Executive MBA Program at HEC-CPA in 2004. He started his career at Hewlett Packard, before moving on to Thomson in June 2000, where he was appointed International Supply Chain Director at the Tubes Division. Sylvain Rousseau has extensive experience with industrial strategy, procurement and supply chain management. He and his team will be striving to continue with the global reorganization of Ingenico’s industrial subcontracting, supply chain and related planning processes. Patrice Le Marre is now in charge of Supply Chain Management, reporting to Sylvain Rousseau. Patrice Le Marre has a DESS degree in logistics management. In 2000, he became head of Planning at Alcatel, working within the ESD Division (PABX & Data). In 2002, he shifted to Alcatel’s Mobile Telephony Division as head of Industrial Operations and Logistics. At Ingenico, Patrice Le Marre is now in charge of Industrial Organization, Order Management and Logistics. His top priority will be further growth in profit margins through cost control and enhanced customer service.
