INGENICO has obtained CB5.2 approval for the Company’s Elite range of 16-bit payment terminals from the G.I.E. Cartes Bancaires.

Two of the CB5.2 approved terminal models include the countertop Elite 510 and portable Elite 730 terminals, representing over 70% of the Company’s French park installed base. INGENICO also obtained CB5.2 approval for the next generation I7300 portable payment 32-bit terminal. CB5.2 approval will be extended to the other next generation 32-bit terminals that leverage the UNICAPT architecture. These terminals include the I7770, a short-range wireless terminal using Bluetooth technology and, the I5300 countertop terminal with hand-over PIN Pad. CB5.2 is the French banking application standard that conforms with EMV, an international standard to improve transaction security and interoperability between smart cards and terminals. The INGENICO terminals that have been CB5.2 approved provide merchants with the benefits of EMV security and ensure the continual evolution of the EMV standard. In collaboration with G.I.E. Cartes Bancaires and other the French banks, INGENICO is contributing to the French park EMV migration launch phase. During the next few weeks, INGENICO terminals will be empowered to take part in CB5.2, thus being the first terminals to accept EMV transactions in France.
