Ingenico has launched the Pay@table program in repsonse to the demand for portable EMV payment terminals.

The Pay@table program brings benefits to the customer as well as to the restaurant and hospitality sector: - By maintaining control of their card, the customer enjoys a significantly higher level of personal security and reduces fraud potential. - Restaurant and hospitality establishments achieve higher productivity and increased revenues through process efficiencies. - Restaurants can expect a lift on billed amounts by increasing the convenience and availability of card payment. This results in higher average tips for the wait staff, and of course for the establishment. - Faster, friendlier checkout increases speed of table turnover allowing the establishment to do more business. This new program comes on the heels of the success of the i 5100, which recently became the fastest selling payment terminal in Payment Industry history. There are over 7.5 million hospitality establishments world wide, with an average of two waitpersons on staff. Ingenico estimates the market potential is approximately 15 million points of sale. The Ingenico Pay@table program encompasses the following products from the i 7000 portable family: - The i 7300 and the i 7310, off-line portable products, allow customers to pay at ANY distance from the counter. - The i 7770 and the i 7780, the on-line portable products, allow customers to pay at the table using an on-line connection to the merchant’s authorization center. The i 7770 and the i 7780 terminals come equipped with the first commercially available Bluetooth connection capability in a portable POS device. Bluetooth is a short-range radio frequency technology widely used in mobile telephony and mobile computing. Bluetooth provides outstanding communication quality, and significant range (200m) between the terminal and base. It operates at a very low power consumption rate, allowing for a high number of transactions without recharging. Bluetooth also allows for the first wireless LAN of up to 7 devices on a single communication base. This enables Ingenico to offer a complete solution which reduces the merchant’s operations costs. - With the optional Ethernet communications port on the i 7780, the merchant is able to achieve 7 simultaneous transactions on a single Ethernet connection, further reducing cost and processing time. - Finally, it brings increased security thanks to the high performance frequency hopping technology, authentication, cryptography, and network addressing methods. The i 7000 family is based on Ingenicos exclusive UNICAPT 32 allowing banks and processors to reduce certification costs through portability of applications with other Ingenico products. The terminals of the i 7000 family are multi-application devices, which enable multiple card acceptance programs and offer loyalty or specific restaurant or hospitality programs. Ingenico is rolling out the Pay@Table program worldwide, initially in the following countries or region: UK, Spain, Italy, Brazil, Argentina, Canada, USA, and South East Asia Ingenico is excited about the new partnership opportunities created by the Pay@Table program, such as those with card issuers, processors and acquirers, Value Added Resellers, POS Restaurant hardware and software providers, and restaurateurs.
