GO Software Launch PCCharge 5.7

Monday 19 July 2004 18:53 CET | News

GO Software, a subsidiary of Return On Investment Corporation, has released its PCCharge 5.7.

The upgraded system provides enhanced security in conjunction with Visas Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP), support for Canadian Debit card transactions and overall improvements of previous capabilities. PCCharge 5.7 underwent an audit conducted by Ambiron, an enterprise security advisor firm, which tested the application using Visas CISP guidelines for merchants. Merchants must perform CISP validation on any systems or system components where Visa cardholder data is processed, stored or transmitted, unless otherwise specified by Visa. The audit determined use of PCCharge 5.7 would not prohibit a merchant from meeting CISP requirements when implemented into a secure environment. Enhancing the security required extensive quality assurance (QA) testing and encryption coding using Advanced Encryption Standards (AES) to ensure the highest level of customer data protection. In addition, PCCharge 5.7 expands GO softwares reach into the Canadian marketplace with the introduction of Canadian debit support on Global Processing Networks platform. The offering meets Global Processing Networks Central and East specifications and allows developers to penetrate Canadian markets by integrating with PCCharge. Other critical PCCharge improvements relate to commercial credit cards, requiring merchants to provide more data than consumer credit card transactions. The actual number sequences (or BIN ranges) constantly change on commercial cards, and PCCharge 5.7 allows merchants to regularly request updates. PCCharge 5.7 also allows for merchants to include additional transaction information. American Express Direct Settlement of Level Two data is also available with PCCharge 5.7, through select networks. This support allows merchants to submit additional transaction details to bank processors and present a more itemized cardholder statement, potentially including invoice numbers or a breakout of shipping costs. Other PCCharge 5.7 upgrades include client updates, which provide full functionality to merchants using PCCharge in a thin-client environment; additional gift card certifications, and updated hardware support.
