First Tennessee Bank Selects VECTORsgis VECTOR:IQA

First Tennessee Bank has selected VECTORsgis VECTOR:IQA (Image Quality Analyzer) software to ensure image quality. The software will help the bank address the quality of images captured and more importantly, those exchanged when more banks begin to take advantage of the Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act or Check 21. The VECTOR:IQA solution evaluates images at specific points within the capture process to determine if it meets quality specifications. Images that meet the specifications are accepted and processed through the system. The software will give the bank details about unacceptable images and the ability to either rescan the image or replace it. Poor or inferior quality images can have long ranging cost impacts on the depository and paying banks. Poor quality leads to missing images, which occur when the data line on a check is captured but no matching image exists. Items with missing images cannot be processed without significant manual work and are sometimes simply written off by the bank. First Tennessee Hopes to install the solution by July, months ahead of the October 28, start date for Check 21.
