Entrust Honored By Frost & Sullivan for Advanced Artificial Intelligence Technologies

Entrusts recently-acquired AmikaNow! artificial intelligence-based compliance technology has received the 2004 Frost &Sullivan Award for Technology Innovation.

This award was presented to AmikaNow! and Entrust in recognition of their efforts in developing a set of first-class compliance and anti-spam solutions. The Entrust-owned technology delivers a highly sophisticated content analysis tool that can automatically analyze and categorize e-mail messages and documents based on the context and meaning of their contents, not simply pre-defined word lists. One of the advantages of an AI-driven context scanning technology is that it does not require constant updates, and the technology can differentiate between various uses of a word; e.g., it can distinguish the difference between the clinical use of the word breast in breast cancer and a pornographic reference. Additionally, policies can be customized to suit the corporate environment and can be automatically enforced at the boundary to help customers reduce business risk and better comply with privacy regulations and securities laws. For example, in an e-mail environment this technology can be used to intercept and forward sensitive messages to a boundary encryption server, warn employees about their use of inappropriate or offensive language, or filter spam on incoming messages. The capabilities of the Entrust-owned artificial intelligence technologies further strengthens and expands the portfolio of products within the Entrust Secure Messaging and Entrust Secure Data Solutions. This will help Entrust to provide enterprise and government customers with comprehensive content analysis and risk mitigation tools based on award-winning technology for improved compliance with corporate e-mail policies and regulatory guidelines such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Gramm-Leach-Bliley (GLB), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and the Canadian federal governments Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Recently, Entrust has been granted U.S. Patent 6,499,021, Apparatus and method for interpreting and intelligently managing electronic messages, and has other patents pending in the areas of document analysis, summarization, and security.
