eMerchantPay receives e-money licence

Thursday 17 August 2017 13:16 CET | News

eMerchantPay has received authorisation from the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority to issue payouts, e-wallets and prepaid cards.

The licence allows the company to develop new payments solutions for merchants, apart from its online, mobile and POS payment services it delivers to ecommerce businesses.

PIF is a UK-based trade group that advocates for the prepaid industry in Europe and worldwide. In April 2017, it asked UK regulators for more clarification on certain aspects of how the second Payment Services Directive (PSD2) framework will be applied in the country.

The Bulgaria-based payments service provider has also announced that it joined the Prepaid International Forum (PIF).
