CONNEX OE will support all existing payment channels, devices and types, and will provide a flexible foundation that promotes the rapid introduction of new payment services at every point in the payment transaction lifecycle. CONNEX OE is intended to provide a cost-effective, flexible enterprise-wide payment platform architecture for the financial services industry. Investing in the open, flexible architecture of CONNEX OE will help industry players of every size to better combat thin margins and the high costs of implementation, maintenance and ownership that have made in-house, proprietary processing payment solutions less appealing to many segments of the industry. CONNEX OE is designed to meet these needs by enabling payment organizations to take immediate advantage of open platforms, while continuing to run the core products and systems in which they have made large capital investments. The solution will also enable customers to evolve their systems to open platforms one component at a time, helping to mitigate the risk of migrating mission critical EFT applications. OE will also support a wide range of platforms, from enterprise platforms like IBM zSeries and HP NonStop, to open UNIX, Linux and Windows platforms. This range of platform support means OE can provide cost-effective solutions for small, mid-tier and extremely large organizations with diverse business needs and cost-of-ownership requirements. The initial components of CONNEX OE are planned for release in mid-2005. They include CONNEX OE Fraud Manager and CONNEX OE DataDistributor. Fraud Manager is a comprehensive fraud management and detection solution, supporting the industrys primary fraud prevention schemes. DataDistributor is a secure, reliable data transfer solution designed to transmit data from online transaction processing systems to back-office transaction management solutions.
