Self Serve Kiosks flourish in relation to Express Bill Payment services. The Semi Self Serve Kiosk allows a customer to enter their account number and other sensitive data that they way not want to reveal to a clerk. The kiosk captures this information but does not collect the funds for the transaction; it marks the transaction as pending and prints an instructional receipt with a transaction number and bar code for the consumer who entered the data. At the register the customer gives the clerk their transaction number, clerk enters it into a networked register or terminal informing them of the amount due. Clerk rings the sale and processes the payment. The customer receives verification of the payment on a printed receipt, which shows account information and amount paid, as well as current account balance.
