Diebolds ImageWay Provides Check-Imaging Solution for Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union

An electronic check-imaging solution for automated teller machines (ATMs), ImageWay ATM is an open, end-to-end deposit automation solution developed for the self-service delivery channel. ImageWay ATM enables financial institutions to capture check images at the ATM, transport them to a financial institutions server and format the data so its compatible with the institutions back-office image processes. During phase one of the project, a Diebold Opteva advanced-function ATM is positioned in Suncoasts employee lounge on its main campus. The unit can capture check images and send the images and transaction data through ImageWay ATM to an item-processing application provided by Advanced Financial Solutions. During the second phase of the implementation, planned for 2005, Suncoast will roll out ImageWay and bulk note acceptors across its network to incorporate full deposit automation on its nearly 90 depository ATMs. While the ATM is a preferred channel for cash withdrawals, consumers are less eager to rely on ATMs for deposit activities. ImageWay ATM provides consumers with a reliable transaction and faster acknowledgement of deposited funds. The Diebold solution enables financial institutions to reduce costs, increase the speed of check processing, migrate deposit transactions to the self-service channel and reduce the risk of fraud.
