Charles Kallenbach Named General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer at Heartland Payment Systems

Heartland Payment Systems, has named Charles Kallenbach general counsel and chief legal officer. In this newly established role, Kallenbach serves as the central contact for legal matters and enables Heartland to manage compliance and regulatory issues internally.

Kallenbach brings more than 15 years of legal experience to Heartland. Most recently, he was senior vice president, legal and regulatory, for SunCom Wireless Holdings Inc. There, he created and managed internal legal, regulatory and corporate compliance functions; managed the companys public reporting systems and intellectual property portfolio; and negotiated mergers and acquisitions. Kallenbach has previously been associated with Eureka Broadband Corporation, 2nd Century Communications and e.spire Communications Inc. He also practiced law with Jones Day and Swidler Berlin (now known as Bingham McCutcheon) in Washington, D.C.Kallenbach holds a juris doctor degree from New York University School of Law and a bachelors degree in history from University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar, American Bar Association, and the American Corporate Counsel Association. Kallenbach resides in Ambler, PA.
