Mr. Davis recently retired as Senior Vice President of Motorola, Inc. During his 39 years with Motorola, Mr. Davis held progressively senior positions involved with the development of portable radio communications equipment, computer and security architectures, and circuit applications. His most recent position was Director of the Advanced Consumer Systems Research Laboratories at Motorola Labs. He holds 77 issued U.S. patents in the fields of semiconductor and communications technology, and has served on two National Academy of Science Advisory Committees, advising the U.S. Army on techniques for reducing the power drain of portable electronic equipment. Mr. Davis was presented with the ECC Visionary Award at the first annual Certicom ECC Conference in November of 2004, in recognition of his pioneering work in ECC. Mr. Davis received his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1963 and his Master of Electrical Engineering from the same school in 1964. He received an Honorary Doctor of Arts degree from Florida Atlantic University in 1995. The appointment of Mr. Davis brings the total number of directors to eight.
