Canara Bank, India Selects CR2 and NCR for ATM Expansion

Canara Bank through CR2s partner NCR, India has selected to upgrade its ATM channel with CR2s new ATM technology.Canara Bank, India is to expand its ATM network to over 500 ATMs though the deployment of NCRs self service terminals and CR2s BankWorld ATM solution suite. As part of this agreement Canara Bank will deploy CR2s BankWorld ATM Client, Controller and Distributor applications in addition to CR2s BankWorld Channel Manager. The bank will also have available access for three extra channels of their choice from the BankWorld Channel Manager for touch point facilities such as Internet, Interactive Voice Response, and SMS. Canara Bank has successfully being using CR2s established ATM solution (Sparrow/Hawk) since 1996, and is one of CR2s largest customers in India. Recently Canara Bank launched its Visa Electron debit card to its customer base using CR2s card management technology. With these debit cards, Canara customers can enjoy access to their deposit accounts from any of the banks ATMs, Visa affiliated ATMs country-wide, and also enables them to do hassle-free purchases at 51,000 point of sales terminals and merchant establishments across India. By implementing the individual components of BankWorld ATM, Canara Bank will be able to take advantage of CR2s new technology platform, that will allow Canara Bank, through a reduced cost of ownership, to maximise revenue and initiate cross selling opportunities. BankWorld ATM client, which resides on the ATM, utilises the latest browser technologies to offer advanced multimedia facilities including graphics, audio, and streaming video. As a result Canara Bank will have the capability of offering premium products and services to their customers via this enhanced interactive multimedia touchpoint. Using BankWorld ATM Controller and Distributor, Canara Bank will be able to carry out remote ATM software maintenance and distribution, which provides Canara with the ability to update ATM screens remotely and to delivery tailor made products and services to their country-wide customer base, fast and effectively. CR2s comprehensive ATM solution will ensure that Canara Bank has the facilities to quickly and efficiently add new self service terminals, to their expanding ATM network, on a phased basis. Furthermore, in the full exploitation of the CR2 BankWorld ATM solution Canara Bank is empowered with the complete control of the banks ATM Channel strategy and roll-out, without vendor dependency.
