Bioscrypt Expands its Door-to-Desktop Solution

Bioscrypt has joined forces with Cognizance to produce a new solution for enterprise- wide deployments. By adding features that allow users to access computer applications, such as network logon, single-sign-on and transaction authentication, Bioscrypts vision of providing biometric verification across the enterprise, from Door-to-Desktop, "out of the box", is being realized.To achieve this new solution, the Bioscrypt Core algorithm will be integrated into Cognizances Identity and Access Management (IAM) product. Enrolled templates can then be shared across the Bioscrypt line of physical access products as well as with other back office applications that are deployed enterprise-wide. Thus, the award-winning Bioscrypt Core algorithm provides the backbone for a complete Door-to-Desktop solution. The BIM solution is expected to be available by the end of the third quarter. There are three main advantages to this combined solution. First, Bioscrypt has established a strong position in physical access control, with a significant client base into which the new product can be sold. Second, the unique properties of Bioscrypts pattern based algorithm facilitate interoperability across multiple finger sensor types from manufacturers such as Authentec, Atmel, and Digital Persona. This interoperability will become increasingly important in giving organizations freedom of choice when procuring hardware devices as it is very unlikely that sensors introduced to an organization through laptops, keyboards, personal digital assistants and other dedicated devices will come from the same manufacturer. Third, Cognizances Identity and Access Management product can be deployed across heterogeneous identity repositories and Directory environments. The result is a highly extensible and agile framework that will continue to meet the often-unforeseen changing business requirements of the Enterprise in the future.
