Apple Pay comes to CVS, 7-Eleven, plans expansion in Germany

Wednesday 1 August 2018 00:56 CET | News

CVS and 7-Eleven have announced that they will add support for Apple Pay in the following months of 2018.

In 2016, CVS launched its own barcode-based mobile payment solution, following the failure of CurrentC.

In addition, Apple Pay would launch in Germany later in 2018, according to Tech Crunch. The news follows a new forecast released by Juniper Research which estimates Apple Pay will account for 1 in 2 contactless mobile wallet users (in OEM-provided wallets) by 2020.

Apple Pay is now live in 24 markets worldwide, with more than 4,900 bank partners. The service will also go live on eBay in the US.
