ADS Retail has joined IBMs ISV Advantage Initiative, a program designed to provide independent software vendors (ISVs) with technical and marketing support to help meet the specific information technology needs of small and medium business (SMB) companies.ADS Retails all-Java POS application, Nextor, was developed with on demand retailing in mind. Its enterprise management design allows retailers to control their entire system from corporate headquarters. This capability enables the POS to get information from all parts of the business: customer relationship management, supply chain, kiosks, human resource applications, Web sites, catalogs, and other business management applications. With this wealth of information available at the store level the store associate is able to speak intelligently to the customers. This leads to enhanced customer service, increased customer revenue, and a more productive and stable workforce. Enabling Nextor on IBM DB2 Universal Database software on Linux, IBM eServer pSeries and xSeries, and SurePOS point of sales terminals running Linux or other operating systems will help ADS Retail expand into the SMB market faster and more effectively than is possible with proprietary platforms. ADS Retail will also work closely with IBM to expand its visibility in IBMs target vertical industry through various co-marketing and sales activities.
