Singapore-based insurance company ACE partners with smart cards provider Ez-link to launch three insurance plans for Ez-link customers. The Ez-link smart card (e-wallet) with contactless interface can be utilised in transportation and non-transportation applications (retailers).

The Ez-link card is a contactless smart card based on Sony’s FeliCa smartcard technology. The ACE Ez-link tie-up will offer customers a service to insure Ez-link cards against loss or theft. In addition, the plan provides a unique coverage of accidental death or permanent total disablement on public transport. ACE also offers the Ez-link CardShiled, which is a service that covers customers beyond just the loss of the cards. “This insurance package exhibits ACE’s capability to bring to market customised risk protection products specifically developed to meet local market demands. The different plans are affordable in pricing and offer value for money 24-hour worldwide coverage with benefits which are relevant for everyday lifestyle needs,” says managing director and country manager of ACE Singapore Kenneth Brown.
