Access to Global Payments’ SSL Gateway Now Available

Precidia Technologies, a leading provider of Internet Protocol (IP) access devices, announced Class B certification of its POSLynx retail router with Global Payments’ GlobalNet @dvantage SSL gateway, which provides a direct Internet connection to Global’s East Host card authorization center.

The POSLynx offers faster, cheaper secure payment transaction processing over the public Internet for many of the 10 million dial terminals currently deployed in the US. With the costs of Frame and other VPN services often out of reach for small to mid-sized merchants, the POSLynx provides a cost-effective means to leverage the benefits of the Internet-based processing. The POSLynx connects as many as four terminals to affordable public networks using SSL encryption to ensure security and features built-in redundancy against possible network downtime. Merchants retain their investments in functional Point-of-Sale terminals, save money by eliminating dedicated dial lines and improve customer service with better speed at the check out. Global Payments developed the GlobalNet @dvantage SSL gateway as part of the company’s commitment to provide innovative payment products and services. The POSLynx has successfully undergone certification testing with Global using legacy terminals connected to Global’s East host. “With the POSLynx, Precidia can get a merchant up and running in less than a day with Internet-based transaction processing. It is literally a matter of plugging in a few cables and configuring the POSLynx to route transactions to the appropriate host destinations,” explains Deepak Wanner, president of Precidia. “Just as important, merchants will begin to see a return on their investment immediately.
