ABM Integrated Solutions Market is Now in Ontario

The Country Grocer, an independent supermarket located in Ottawa, Ontario, has deployed its latest point-of-sale solution, Market(2).ABMIS Java POS for grocery is now handling all point-of-sale and back office functions for The Country Grocer.
Although ABMIS has a number of Market(2) installations in Atlantic Canada, this is the first in the Ontario marketplace. Designed specifically for the grocery industry, Market(2) is a flexible and scalable solution for supermarkets ranging from a few lanes to many lanes. Moreover, Market(2) has failsafe engineering to ensure that operations continue even during critical outages within the store. Transactional data is stored within each individual lane and into a master file in the back office system. This replication architecture provides the necessary reliability to allow the store to continue to service customers during hardware failures, network failures, or even power failures. Market(2) runs on a wide variety of hardware and software platforms, and uses Javas database standards to ensure support for the most popular databases available today. ABMIS has taken full advantage of the strengths offered by the Java platform and has turned them into real solutions for retailers. The result for The Country Grocer was a functional, but cost- effective migration from its legacy application. Market(2)s multilingual capability is particularly important to Ontario, as well as other regions. The software is capable of operating in three different languages concurrently, allowing the customer, the cashier and the back-office administrator to easily interact with the system in their preferred language.
