Monday 15 November 2021 13:06 CET | News

Australia-based BNPL provider Zip has announced the acquisition if Czech Republic-based payment app Twisto, to provide Zip with a gateway to Europe’s ecommerce markets.

Zip company officials stated that the acquisition, announced in May 2021, is increasing their presence in Europe, enables partnerships with new merchants, and augments the product offering of the company.

Founded in 2013, Twisto has served customers across 22,000 merchants and is a BNPL platform in Central Europe. Twisto has developed an omnichannel payments platform, giving customers control and the flexibility in paying for their everyday purchases over short and longer-term instalments.

The upfront purchase price paid by Zip for the Twisto acquisition is approximately USD 86 million.
