Woolworths launches standalone payment business named Wpay

Woolworths Group has announced the launch of a new standalone payment business named Wpay.

Wpay will offer end-to-end payment solutions to merchants in Australia. This will include an in-store and digital payments system that supports traditional card payments, e-wallets, and alternative payment methods. Furthermore, the company will also support payment services such as transaction processing, funds settlement, fraud management, reporting, and merchant analytics as well as gift card programme management, including sale, redemption, and distribution partnership.

The company informed these services will be offered to merchants outside of the group, such as EG Australia. Wpay will also be the payments provider for BWS and Dan Murphy's.
