Visa currently collaborates with over 2,000 fintechs worldwide to facilitate advancements in digital payments.
Since its establishment in 2017, Fintech Cadence has played an important role in Canada’s fintech landscape by providing resources and connections for early-stage startups. The organisation focuses on education, industry partnerships, and ecosystem development to promote sector growth.
A representative from Fintech Cadence noted that the organisation has always prioritised collaboration and bridging the gap between financial institutions and fintech founders. The representative added that this partnership with Visa aligns with its mission to enhance the financial system for Canadians.
As part of the partnership, Visa will serve as a Champion Sponsor for the 2025 Fintech Drinks Series, an industry event series that will begin in Montreal on 26 March 2025. Additional events are scheduled in Halifax, Calgary, Toronto, and a second session in Montreal later in the year.
Visa has been actively involved in supporting fintech innovation in Canada through several strategic collaborations, including a partnership from January 2024 when Visa Canada partnered with Plug and Play, a global accelerator and venture capital firm. The main goal of this partnership was to support the growth of the Canadian fintech ecosystem.
This collaboration aimed to provide fintechs with access to Visa's global network, facilitating opportunities for learning, collaboration, and business development.
