Tencent's WeChat Pay collaborates with Visa, Mastercard, and others

Tencent has revealed it launched collaboration deals with Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and JCB.

The agreement aims to allow overseas cardholders to link their accounts to WeChat Pay for payment and services in China. As such, overseas cardholders will be able to use WeChat Pay to pay for hotel rooms, transportation, restaurants, and shopping.

Also, Tencent plans to add more payment scenarios in the future, while Visa mentioned that cardholders would gain access to the WeChat Pay platform by integrating their card numbers into the mobile wallet.
