Samsung launches Samsung Kiosk in Germany

Thursday 18 March 2021 14:22 CET | News

Samsung Electronics has announced launching an SOC-based kiosk system ‘Samsung Kiosk’ in Germany.

After launching in Korea in February 2021, Samsung's entry into the kiosk industry is now expanding to Germany. The Samsung Kiosk systems include NFC, credit card readers (contactless and chip card), barcode scanners, and a ticket printer. The kiosk system can be used in a variety of settings, including quick-service restaurants (QSR), grocery shops, and pharmacies. To reduce customers' fear of using the touchscreen, the system was also designed with an antibacterial coating for hygienic purposes.

The Samsung Kiosk, with a 24-inch touch panel, will be available in three configurations: wall-mounted, floor-standing, and tabletop. The digital signage system, as well as transaction and payment handling, are all managed by the Tizen SoC system, removing the need for a separate media player.
