Razorpay raises USD 160 mln, triples its valuation to USD 3 bln

Razorpay has announced that it has raised USD 160 million in a new Series E funding round, tripling its valuation to USD 3 billion.

The round was co-led by Sequoia Capital and GIC, along with participation from Ribbit Capital and Matrix Partners. The company stated that the capital will be used to scale up their business banking suite, invest in new acquisitions, and launch in International markets, including South-East Asian countries.

According to financialexpress.com, Razorpay has raised a total of USD 366.5 million in funding since its inception in 2014. The company became a unicorn in October 2020, when it raised USD 100 million.
