PopID, Panasonic join forces for contactless payments and drive-thru systems

Monday 22 June 2020 08:01 CET | News

Cloud-based payments company PopID and the Panasonic Corporation of North America, a subsidiary of tech company Panasonic, have announced a partnership.

As part of this collaboration, the two companies will work together to bring PopID’s platform and PopPay, a mobile facial recognition-based ordering and payment platform, to more restaurants and retail locations across the U.S. Panasonic will integrate PopID and PopPay into its ClearConnect Kiosk application and drive-thru systems and payment terminals, in addition to giving it preferential rights in the kiosk market.

In addition, PopPay recently launched as a ‘face pay wallet’ that can be used for contact-free payments at drive thrus. PopID’s contactless payments solution aims to reduce the risks associated with coming into contact with commonly shared surfaces such as terminals or counters. The company also allows users to sign into merchant loyalty rewards programmes using facial recognition, as well as see their past orders and reorder them quickly, which can increase sales.
