Over 900 Marktplaats categories now under PayPals Buyer Protection program

Wednesday 3 June 2009 16:02 CET | News

PayPal has extended the Buyer Protection program to more than 900 categories on Marktplaats.nl, a Dutch e-commerce platform.

The initiative follows a recent announcement which PayPal made regarding the integration of the online payment method into the Dutch classifieds website. At that time, the company stated that buyers in the book, CD/ DVD and telecommunications categories can pay with PayPal directly from Marktplaats and purchases will be protected up to EUR 200 in case the seller does not deliver goods as promised. Now the program also covers the shippable goods groups, like clothing and bags, according to the PayPal blog.

The PayPal Buyer Protection Policy states that customers may file a buyer complaint within 45 days if they do not receive an item or if the item they purchased was significantly not as described.
