MoneyGram, urpay to enable cross-border payments from Saudi Arabia

Monday 6 December 2021 11:07 CET | News

Saudi Arabia-based digital wallet urpay has tapped MoneyGram’s API-driven infrastructure and network to enable international transfers from Saudi Arabia.

This strategic partnership builds upon the momentum MoneyGram has developed in the Middle East and further accelerates digital growth in one of the world's outbound remittance markets. Company officials explain that this partnership enables MoneyGram to scale the number of payments it processes through its platform and expands its digital offering.

MoneyGram leverages its mobile and API-driven platform, and collaborates with the world's brands to serve consumers through MoneyGram Online (MGO), its direct-to-consumer digital business, its global retail network, and its emerging embedded finance business for enterprise customers, MoneyGram as a Service.

The partnership is expected to be live for consumers in early 2022.
