Mastercard buys Arcus FI in LATAM

Thursday 25 November 2021 09:56 CET | News

Global payments processor Mastercard has acquired payments as a service (PaaS) company Arcus Financial Intelligence to improve the delivery of real-time payment applications and bill pay solutions across Latin America.

With offices in Mexico and New York City, Arcus FI provides payments services, including bill pay and cash-in, cash-out for retailers, billers, fintechs, and traditional financial institutions in Mexico and the US. It is looking to expand to a broader audience in Latin America. The company already has partnered with important retailers and institutions, including Rappi, Walmart, Santander, and 7-Eleven.

According to Mastercard, the acquisition will accelerate Mastercard Bill Pay to LATAM since Arcus’ clients already issue most of their household bills in Mexico.
