According to the press release, thanks to the partnership, shoppers can purchase their preferred items on Macys.com, Bloomingdales.com, Bluemercury.com, and across their 750+ retail locations throughout the US, and pay in four interest-free instalments with Klarna.
Furthermore, to pay in-store, shoppers must download the Klarna app, create a one-time-use digital card, and add it to their Apple or Google Wallet. Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, and Bluemercury customers can then make a secure and contactless payment with a simple phone tap.
Overall, the initiative comes as consumers now expect the convenience and flexibility of the online experience everywhere. With global retail sales expected to reach USD 27 trillion by 2022 (Statista, July 2020) Klarna is uniquely placed to meet the continued accelerated demand both online and in-store.
