ING and French international provider of IT services Atos Origin have extended their agreement for iDEAL transactional services.

As part of the agreement, Atos Worldline will enable ING to use its platform which combines Atos Origin expertise in hi-tech transactional services to support transactions via the electronic payment standard iDEAL until at least the end of 2014. Atos Worldwide will thus enable ING to meet SEPA requirements without having to adjust their IT systems. Atos Origin has been providing ING with similar services since 2005.

ING enables online businesses to process iDEAL transactions via iDEAL Basic and iDEAL Advanced. By accessing their personal page My ING on the home banking website, consumers can pay for purchases on the internet by authorising an iDEAL transaction.iDEAL is a method which enables online payments directly between bank accounts. To offer iDEAL as a payment method in an online store, a direct link is established with the systems of participating banks.

In a recent development, Dutch financial services company ABN AMRO has inked a five-year agreement with Atos Worldline, for the supply and management of a platform to support transactions via the iDEAL electronic payment standard.
