TripRewards Program Offers Points for Online Banking

Thursday 20 January 2005 22:40 CET | News

Cendant Hotel Group announced that members of its TripRewards loyalty program now can earn points for signing up for online banking services with NetBank.

TripRewards members can earn 2,500 points for opening and funding a NetValue or SuperValue checking account, 2,500 points for opening and funding a money market account, 1,500 points for signing up for direct deposit with NetBank and 500 points for enrolling in and using NetBanks online bill payment service. NetBank, which offers its services completely online, is the first bank to join TripRewards as an earning partner. TripRewards members who sign up for all four online banking services can receive a total of 7,000 points, more than enough to redeem for a free night, a $25 gift card at one of many retail and restaurant earning partners or a one-day Avis car rental. Featuring points-earning opportunities through more than 6,000 hotels and 46 partners as well as 140-plus point-redemption options, TripRewards is the worlds largest loyalty program, based on the number of participating hotels. The programs open earn structure allows members faster access to point earning by staying in Cendant-franchised hotels, renting Avis and Budget rental cars and purchasing everyday products and services from earning partners. Likewise, TripRewards members can redeem their points for either hotel stays -- with no blackout dates -- or partner rewards including airline tickets, resort vacations, electronics, home appliances, sporting goods, movie and theme park tickets and gift certificates from 46 retailers and restaurants. TripRewards members may elect to earn either TripRewards points, airline miles or rail points for their hotel stays. A hassle-free online system allows members to check points and redeem for rewards 24 hours a day.
