Security Service Federal Credit Union (SSFCU) has deployed the NetScaler solution to meet the growing demand for new products and services through its popular online-banking applications.

SFCU, the nations 10th largest credit union with assets exceeding $3.5 billion, chose NetScaler as a core component of its network infrastructure, allowing it to securely deliver a wide range of enterprise applications far more quickly and cost-effectively than before. On Day 1 of the deployment, SSFCU immediately doubled the capacity of concurrent users and realized a significant increase in application performance, maximizing its existing IT infrastructure without further hardware or software investments. SSFCU, with headquarters in San Antonio, Texas, was the first credit union in its area to offer extensive online banking services to its customer base. As the number of registered users grew beyond 200,000, the company began exploring ways to rapidly scale the capacity of its network to handle this increased volume more effectively. Unlike alternative solutions, NetScaler fit seamlessly into SSFCUs existing infrastructure without requiring any changes to its network or applications. More importantly, NetScalers comprehensive functionality, including Layer 4-7 content switching, compression and integrated SSL VPN, gave SSFCU the ability to address multiple application delivery needs across the enterprise that it could not solve with traditional load balancers or application acceleration point products. In addition, NetScaler proved to be extremely cost-effective when compared to alternative approaches such as expensive server upgrades or application rewrites.
