Tuesday 4 January 2022 13:31 CET | News

Global investment organisation focused on fintechs Ribbit Capital has raised USD 1.15 billion in its alleged seventh fund, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The new fund, Ribbit Capital VII LP, is significantly higher than what the company raised in March 2021 (USD 750 million).

Since its inception back in 2012, Ribbit has raised over USD 2.5 billion in total capital, mainly focusing on startups in North and Latin America.

The company is known to have invested in large fintechs, including Affirm, Coinbase, Nubank, and Robinhood. Year 2021 also brought new investment opportunities for Ribbit, as it continued its expansion in both North American and LATAM (Justos in Brazil), aside from a USD 65 million investment in Indonesia-based investment app Ajaib.
