Germany-based tokenized asset infrastructure fintech Cashlink has successfully closed a mid-seven-figure Series A funding round.

The Switzerland-based venture capitalist TX Ventures, Futury Capital, the investment management company Hessen and several business angels are coming on board as new investors. In addition, existing investors such as seed+speed, Panta Rhei, C3 Venture Capital, and DEWB participated in the financing round. The w3.fund made a token-based investment in Cashlink at the end of last year.

Cashlink completes Series A funding round

Cashlink offers an infrastructure for asset tokenization, enabling the fully digital issuance of securities. Numerous financial institutions, such as Bankhaus Scheich and the asset manager LAIQON, as well as fintechs, such as the sustainable investment platform WiWin, rely on Cashlink’s solution. In addition to technical infrastructure, Cashlink also covers all necessary regulatory requirements. In November 2021, Cashlink received provisional permission to keep a register for crypto securities from the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin).

Cashlink’s expansion plans

With the investment, Cashlink wants to strengthen its growth course. Above all, the range of products related to the register management of crypto securities will be expanded using the fresh capital. According to a Cashlink representative, the introduction of crypto securities in Germany is a growth driver for Cashlink. In particular, the expansion of the Electronic Securities Act to include equities, which is planned for 2023, will ensure further momentum. The investment will therefore create an important financial basis for Cashlink’s further growth in this area.

The investors in the financing round

As stated by a representative of investor TX Ventures, they believe that asset tokenization will revolutionise the securities market as it offers higher liquidity, faster settlement, and lower costs. The investor, therefore, believes that Cashlink is well-positioned to address this market. A Futury Capital representative adds that the investor is impressed by Cashlink's technological positioning in the rapidly growing market for digital securities, and its close cooperation with relevant authorities in a highly regulated market.

Cashlink’s blockchain technology offers

By using blockchain technology, Cashlink enables securities such as bonds, certificates, or participation rights to be issued completely digitally. In November 2021, the company received provisional permission from BaFin to maintain a crypto securities register, thereby covering the entire value chain of tokenizing securities. This allows financial institutions and fintechs to benefit from the possibilities of tokenization while saving costs and resources. Cashlink also aims to increase the use of blockchain-based applications in the financial industry. As a member of the International Token Standardization Association, Cashlink plans to be involved in shaping the future of the securities business.
