Walmart, Ibotta partner to offer customers cash back solution

Tuesday 5 May 2020 13:01 CET | News

Walmart has partnered with US-based mobile and online payments provider Ibotta, to enable customers to order digitally and earn cash back on items.

According to Chain Store Age, to access the service, customers will navigate from the Ibotta app or site to Walmart grocery, and then link their Ibotta account to their Walmart grocery account.

Afterwards, shoppers can browse offers available at Walmart, add desired promotions to their list, and place order for pickup or delivery from within their Walmart grocery account. Moreover, within 24 hours after placing their order, customers will receive automatic cash back on eligible offers.  However, Ibotta will not provide cash back on product substitutions.

Overall, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Walmart is aiming to develop access to its online grocery service by integrating its previously siloed digital grocery offering into its ecommerce site and mobile app.
