Venmo delivered eight ‘gift wrapping’ options for in-app payments, adding colour and animation to the process of sending someone money. In a release about the new feature, Venmo officials noted that 78% of Venmo users said they had sent a gift last year through one payment app or another.
People will be able to add gift wrap using a button next to Venmo's pay and request controls. Gift wrapping is available to be selected by users starting 20 January 2022. The feature will go live to all users in the coming weeks, the company said. In addition to the eight initial options, Venmo plans to release three Lunar New Year-themed animations.
