Tantrum Street launches Skip Wallet m-payment app

Thursday 17 October 2013 08:14 CET | News

Tantrum Street, an information technology and services company, has launched Skip Wallet, a cloud-based app that allows consumers to load credit, debit and gift card information, as well as rewards card details, onto one platform, creating a ‘digital wallet’ that enhances the purchase, return and budget-tracking process.

Through its cloud-based tokenization technology, Skip Wallet provides users a swipe-free and scan-free purchase experience, with no account numbers being transmitted. Consumers can pay for meals, drinks, services and retail items with their smartphone or tablet app, or if they don’t have their phone or wallet with them, by providing their Skip Wallet ‘payname’ and PIN at the compatible point-of-purchase.

Skip Wallet’s pilot test is set to run through 2013 with a national launch scheduled for early 2014.

In recent news, Tantrum Street intends to launch Cartwheel Register, a mobile app that enables merchants to accept a number of credit and debit cards without needing to swipe them.
