Robinhood postpones its UK launch

Wednesday 22 July 2020 11:01 CET | News

Robinhood, a US-based stock trading app, has postponed its UK launch indefinitely.

The announcement came more than a year and a half after the company began executing on plans to cross the pond. Robinhood shut down the UK website and promised to delete customer email addresses in line with local privacy regulation. Prospective customers who registered were informed of the decision.

According to TechCrunch, Robinhood’s withdrawal from the UK may be good news for UK competitors including Freetrade, Bux, eToro, and Revolut.
