Indian digital payment system Paytm has launched the “Tap to Pay” feature that allows users to make instant payments just by tapping their phone to a POS machine.
The developers announced that the service will be possible even when the phone is locked or there is no Internet connection or data plan. The “Tap to Pay” feature is available for both Android and iOS users paying through Paytm all-in-one POS devices and POS machines from other banks.
The new feature not only aims to increase conversion rate but also represents a step further in India’s digitisation as it allow users to make payments even without a stable Internet connection.
