Omantel Selects LogicaCMGS Next Generation Multimedia Messaging Infrastructure

Omantel will launch an advanced multimedia messaging service in Oman using LogicaCMGs Next Generation Multimedia Messaging Service Centre to enable corporate and private subscribers to exchange multimedia content across Omantel, and international networks. LogicaCMGs transcoding capability was an important deciding factor as it automatically identifies and resolves any conflict in the media formats supported by the sending and receiving MMS device, ensuring consumers experience the high quality and high value that they demand and that operators want to provide. The solution is part of LogicaCMGs flexible, high capacity Next Generation Messaging offering, allowing Omantel to deploy new revenue-generating services quickly and reliably. Through this MMS solution, Omantel realises the next step in the evolution of its wireless messaging offering, adding a rich media experience to the currently deployed LogicaCMG SMS solution.
