Designer Philippe Starck has announced the launch of AEKLYS, an NFC-enabled ring that allows users to make payments and send information.

The device can store debit and credit cards, transport passes, as well as business card information.

The users will be able to make payments or send information by tapping the ring and waving it in front of the sensor they are presented with.

The device works without needing to be connected to a smartphone or a network. It also features an instant deactivation system and wave control, in order to mitigate theft and fraudulent use threats.
