Nets and Softpay.io launch Softpay for mobile phones

Friday 15 April 2022 09:23 CET | News

Denmark-based fintech Nets has introduced together with Soft.io, the SoftPOS solution Softpay, turning mobile phones into payment terminals.

The new offering enables merchants to accept contactless payments on Android smartphones and tablets, just like a payment terminal, without additional hardware. Retailer Salling Group is the first merchant onboard.

Nets company officials stated that purchases and payments are made where the customer is and no longer where the cash register is. This increases the chance of impulse purchases and focuses the shopping experience on the positive moments because queuing and waiting at the checkout are eliminated.

Representatives from Soft.io explained that flexibility and mobility is required in almost all areas of life. The company aims to augment the payment process for consumers and merchants, reducing complexity, and redesigning the processes starting from the customer.

Softpay is a company focused on mobile payment applications which transform mobile phones and other Android devices into contactless payment terminals with PIN. Softpay's solutions are approved by Visa, Mastercard, and Dankort and are available for both large and small merchants in Europe and Americas.
