MTN launches mobile money remittance service between Ivory Coast, Benin

Wednesday 3 December 2014 11:43 CET | News

Telecommunications network MTN has launched a mobile money cross-border remittance service between Ivory Coast and Benin.

The company has unveiled that the introduction of cross-border remittance forms part of its strategy to increase financial inclusion through the use of mobile technologies, and to reduce the cost of transferring money between countries.

The Ivory Coast-Benin mobile money cross-border corridor follows the introduction of a similar service in April 2014 between Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso.
